FM Holds Meeting With Brunei Counterpart

PHNOM PENH: Foreign Affairs Minister Prak Sokhonn co-chaired Friday’s ASEAN Foreigners Ministers Meeting with the Minister of Foreigner Affairs of Brunei, Erian Yusof. The meeting was held by videoconference.

Both Cambodia and Brunei’s Foreign Ministers discussed efforts of connecting the ASEAN community, enhancing engagement between the countries and preparing for the 38th and 39th ASEAN Summits scheduled to take place between 26-28 of October.

The ministers exchanged views on the progress of work of the Special Envoy of the ASEAN Chair on Myanmar, with the implementation of the Five-Point Consensus. Prak Sokhonn emphasized the importance of an early visit to Myanmar by the Special Envoy, hoping that realistic steps will be taken to establish a more constructive dialogue between relevant parties in the country.
